Installation of Prodigy P3 Brake Controller for 2019 Chevy Express 3500

Question:

Trying to connect a tekonsha brake controller on my 2109 Chevy express 3500 . Instructions state that the red stop light lead from the controller should be connected to the cold non energized side of the stop light switch . My vans stoplight switch has 6 wires connected to it rather than 2 as shown on the controller diagram . The color code for the 6 wires is : White , Brown , Yellow, Tan , Grey, Brown/White . Is one of these wires the cold lead I need to connect to or are they all energized based on the brake pedal position ? Do I need an adapter or is there some other way to connect the stoplight to the controller ? I am towing an enclosed 28foot car trailer with dual axles and electric brakes on both axles . Thanks

The brake signal output wire you will want is the yellow wire on your 2019 Chevy Express 3500. This wire should only be energized when the brake pedal is pressed. This will connect to the red wire on your Tekonsha brake controller like the Prodigy P3 # 90195. I've attached a video to assist.
