What Tool Can be Used for Cutting Down Titan Hitch Box Extension

Question:

I have this hitch extension, I will be cutting it down to the 41 inch length, any suggestions on how to cut this extension and what tools you would use? Right now I plan to use a cut off wheel on an electric grinder. Any suggestions would be helpful. More importantly I would like to attach support chains to help any lateral pressures against the extension. Do you sell the brackets that attach to the OEM hitch that the chain can be attached? I dont think hooking chain hooks into the ends of the OEM hitch would be the right way to go on this. I have a 2006 F350 DRW and am hauling a 2003 Lance 1130 Camper, I will be flat pulling a 2014 Honda CRV. The Honda will be attached to the truck with a Ready Brute Elite tow bar and braking system The brackets that attach to the OEM hitch is what I am looking for, to connect the lateral chain supports

A cut-off wheel would be great for cutting down the Titan Hitch Box Extension # RP45018. Most people without access to those type of tools use something basic like a hacksaw for cutting the extension so your set up is going to be a much less strenuous process.

As far as brackets that attach to an OEM hitch, that is not something that we offer, and there is going to be a bit of back and forth play with the extension, but it will be firmly in the hitch so long as you use the proper pin and clip, the Hitch Pin and Clip for 2-1/2" and 3" Hitches - 5/8" Diameter x 4-3/4" Span # 37201065.
