Sway Control for Lance Trailer Without Weight Distribution System or Friction Sway Bar Option
Question:
We have the Audi Q 7 that will not allow a wt distribution system I it is self leveling and now we bought a Lance travel trailer. To use a sway distribution bar, the bar needs to be attached to the trailer frame by welding or bolting. The Lance dealer will not modify the Lance trailer frame drill or weld to install a sway distribution bar it voids the Lance warranty . Any suggestions?

Expert Reply:
Since your Audi Q7 will not allow for weight distribution and your Lance Trailer warranty will not allow for modification of bolting or welding for friction sway control bar, your options are definitely limited.
If you have electric trailer brakes on your trailer, then I have a couple options for you; the Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control # 335TSC-1000 or the Autowbrake Electric Brake Controller # 3430001. I am more familiar with the Autowbrake so that is the route I'd go. These systems connect to electric trailer brakes to use braking side to side as necessary to control trailer sway.
If you have hydraulic brakes on your trailer, I don't have a good solution for your situation because a mechanical element would be required.
