If your truck came with a factory tow package, then you may have some blown fuses. I would recommend checking the under hood fuse box or in the small fuse block on the firewall for missing or blown fuses for the tow package. I do not have the fuse locations for these fuses, but there should be a legend on the lid of the fuse box. The names and locations of the tow package fuses should also be listed in the owners manual.

If all fuses are present and they are not blown, then I would recommend using a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993, to test the wires going into the OEM connector for the trailer wiring harness along the frame rail. I have attached a photo showing what this connector will look like. If you have the turn and brake signal going into the connector, but not coming out, then the wiring harness may be bad and would need to be replaced.

If you do not have this style of connector or the factory tow package and the trailer connector was hard wired to the truck, then I would recommend checking the connections of the turn and brake signal wires from the trailer connector to the turn and brake light circuits on your truck. You should have a green wire going to the right tail light and a yellow wire going to the left tail light. The wires will be spliced to the turn and brake circuits at the tail light assemblies if your truck did not come with a tow package.

If you can tell me the year of your Ford F-250 and if it has the factory tow package or not, then I can make a more specific recommendation for your situation.
