How to Determine Correct Replacement Bearings for Hubs on Older Trailer

Question:

I have a 1971 Sprite 400 with very few markings or numbers. I need to order shocks and wheel bearing for the drums. Can you help direct me as to what parts? I dont even know what the brand of drums are.

We can help you determine what replacement bearings you need, though there isn't a way for us to know any parts on specific trailers.

In order to find the correct bearings, you will need to take apart your hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them. If you are unable to find them, you need to use digital caliper and measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearings ride. You can use the photo I've attached to see exactly where you need to measure.

I've also added a link to a help article on common bearing sizes, as well as a link to our available bearing kits.
