Solution for Mounting Flanges of Curt Hitch Not Fitting Properly to 2003 Toyota Tacoma
Question:
After removing the number brackets. I tried to line up the hitch to bolt on the first two bolts as the video showed but the hitch is not wide enough to fit around the brackets on the truck to get those bolts in. It says it fits my truck but the hitch is not wide enough.

Sometimes in shipping the mounting flanges of the hitches we offer will get bent in. What we recommend is to use an open stairwell or a jack to use controlled force to bend the hitch back so that it will bolt up properly. As long as you don't see any creasing or paint flaking (evidence of fatigue) you are fine.
