Bike Rack Needed to Carry Electric Recumbent and RadCity Electric Bikes

Question:

Hi! I want to buy a tray rack type bike rack. I have a BikeE recumbent 54 wheel base and a Rad City ebike so I dont need the fat tire version. I would only be transporting one at a time. I was wondring what rack would be best. I saw your recumbent rack but it says max 45 lbs per bike 90lbs for two. I wondering if it would hold a 65 pound ebike if that was the only bike on there. Thereby staying under the 90 pound total weight THANKS!!!

If a bike rack says 45 lbs max per bike then you might be able to get away with a few lbs over that limit if you have 1 bike, but 20 lbs over that limit will definitely not be safe. This is due to the weight capacity of the pieces used for the wheel cradles as it's clear the bike rack can handle up to 90 lbs.

With all of that being said, all you need to do is use the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2 Electric Bike Rack # HLY84FR and then also get the Long Wheelbase Kit # HRLWBK-2Y to accommodate your recumbent bike. Since this version of the Sport Rider SE can handle up to 2 bikes weighing 80 lbs you will actually be able to take both bikes with you if the need ever arises!
