Connecting 7-Way Trailer Connector to 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon

I have # # 20223 but brake light bulb is 3 wire system and the instructions say I need a trailer light converter.

Yes, you need to combine the stop and turn signals because the trailer connectors use combined wiring.
There's a couple ways you can do this. The easiest from scratch is to get a 4-way wiring harness that's plug and play into your 2015 Subaru Outback and then convert it to a 7-way. You can use part # 118467 for the 4-way and we have our own conversion kit using part # ETBC7. Part # 118467 includes a converter to combine the wiring and then use our kit to convert that 4-way to a fully functioning 7-way.
Since you already have part # 20023 instead I would still use the same 4-way, part # 118467 I mentioned, except I'd cut the 4-way off and make the wire connections to # 20023. This works the same as our # ETBC7 kit except it has to be wired to the 4-way instead of plugged in. But this way you won't have to hardwire # 20023 into your Outback.
