Troubleshooting Furrion 5 Observation System That Has No Power to Rear Camera

Question:

Good afternoon, Ive read a previous post in regards to someone not getting power to their backup camera. Im experiencing the same problem...I have plugged it into the pigtail at the cigarette lighter along with my display and both have power and pair with no problem. But, when I plug my camera in the rear of the trailer, I dont have any power. I have my trailer plugged into my truck with the running lights on...still no power. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! I just picked the trailer up this past weekend...2020 Kodiak. Thank you in advance!

If your Furrion # FOS43TASF was wired at the factory (or at the dealer) it is more than likely going to be wired to the reverse light circuit so I would start there; make sure that the camera doesn't turn on when your tow vehicle is put in reverse. I would also recommend checking the ground wire on the back of the camera to make sure that it is secured to a paint free surface on the trailer.

If the camera still isn't being turned on when the vehicle is put in reverse and the ground is good, please let me know and I can walk you through the process of testing the power output wire where the camera is installed to see what circuit it is powered from.
