How To Properly Adjust Trailer Braking Assemblies
Question:
I can tighten the brakes using the adjustment star with the hub on but now it is too tight and I cannot loosen the brakes using the adjustment star. A video would help.

In order to adjust manual trailer braking assemblies you will first need the correct tool which is the Brake Adjustment Spoon part # W80630. Once you have this tool you can remove the rubber plug from the back of the braking assembly, spin the wheel/tire, and then turn the star wheel upward while looking at the rear of the braking assembly until you start to get a slight drag on the pads. The upward motion to increase tension will be the same for both sides.
If you are having trouble loosening the adjuster wheel, ensure you are using the tool above as it can be hard to get leverage with just a flathead. If you still have issues see if you can pull the hub off so you can then try to loosen the adjuster wheel (turn down).
I don't have any good videos on this process unfortunately.
