Will the Convert-A-Ball 5th Wheel Adapter Work On a Short Bed Truck Or Is the Offset Adapter Needed
Question:
Hi- I have a 2016 crew cab F250 with the 6' 8" bed. It has the B and W turnover gooseneck hitch. Can I use this to tow a fifth wheel camper, or will I need an offset ball also? If so, how much offset? Thanks

Generally speaking, the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter part # CAB-C5G is for long bed trucks and the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter w/ Offset part # CAB-C5GX1216 is for short bed trucks.
That said, this really comes down to the particular truck and trailer combo but to be on the safe side I can pretty confidently recommend that you will need to use the offset adapter in order to make sharp turns so that is what I recommend. The above adapter offers 7-1/2" of offset which is the most available.
