Can High-Speed Power Stabilizer Jack be Used to Level Lightweight 5th Wheel Camper

Question:

Is this product a good replacement for the scissor jacks on the back of a light weight fifth wheel? I typically don’t need a lot of side to side leveling lift level side to side with wheel ramps but is this product able to do final tweaks on leveling?

The Lippert Components High-Speed Power Stabilizer Jack # LC369774 is a great way to upgrade scissor jacks into something that is much easier to use. This stabilizer jack can be used to replace both the front and rear scissor jacks if that's what you want to do, however just like with other stabilizer jacks, it's only designed to stabilize and not actually lift the trailer. There is actually an internal auto-reset circuit breaker that shuts the system off for about 10 seconds if you start to overload them.

If you're wanting something that will actually level your 5th wheel then you need the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 instead. This comes in a 4-Point Set # LC358590 as well as a 6-Point Set # LC675817, both of which are rated for 5th wheels with up to a 15,500 lb GVWR.

To decide which one is for your 5th wheel you first need to refer to the linked instructions and determine where these jacks will be mounted on your trailer. Use the 4-Point system if there will be 20' or less between the center of the landing gear footpad and the center of the rear jack footpad. If your setup requires more than 20' between the jacks, use the 6-Point system instead.

In addition to the instructions, I have also linked a review video for the Ground Control 3.0 that you can check out.
