What is the capacity of this winch bracket. Will it stand up to a 12,000lb winch?

I checked with my contact at Bulldog and they said that the capacity of the Bulldog Winch Hitch Mounted Winch Mounting Plate # BDW20011, is based on capacity of vehicle receiver. This mount is made for winches up to 12.5 k and does not fit large-body truck winches - they are considered too heavy to be portable and too strong for receiver capacity. So, the capacity of your hitch is considered the capacity of this mount.

I spoke with my contact at Curt and he confirmed that Curt front mounted hitch #31604 will work with your 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 with stabilizer bar and factory anti-sway bars. With a line pull of 9,000 lbs the Draw-Tite is perfect for winches.
