I'll give you a number of different dimensions for the hole spacing as I'm not entirely sure what you were specifically looking for on the 45" Long Side-Door Bar Lock Assembly # PLR3057-45.

From the top mounting hole to the bottom mounting hole (on the hinges) it measures 43-1/2 inches; the closest holes on the hinges are 37 inches apart, and the holes on the hinges are 3-1/4 inches apart.

This is a new install, its on a 2020 ATC trailer ,it must be the trim on the door holding it out

It could be the trim on your door. Adding a spacer is perfectly okay and should be pretty easy to obtain at a local hardware store. I linked a different answer page that shows a customer-submitted picture with a spacer being utilized just as an example.

Hey I bought this 45in door bar lock and appears that the only way I see it working is to use 1in. Spacers at the hinge,is this a common problem?

Adding spacers at the hinge could be needed, but it's really dependent on your specific setup. Are there components on the door that would require more clearance (such as handles, etc)? Are you replacing an existing bar lock assembly or is it a completely new setup?
