Does Ford Sway Control Need to be Turned Off to Use 1,400 lb Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System

Question:

Hello, I have a 2015 Ford F-350 with factory electronic sway control and a bumper pull toy hauler hitched with a Equa-l-izer 4 point hitch 14k version. I know how sway control system and hitch sway control works. I have googled, read forums, and even read my owners manual for the Equa-l-izer hitch and I’ve heard mixed responses in turning off the truck side of sway control as it’ll work against the hitch sway control. My owner manual on the hitch says nothing about turning off truck sway control. I’ve read other brands of hitches day to turn it off. My question is do I need to turn off trucks sway control or leave it on?? Thanks

You do not need to turn off your 2015 Ford F-350's trailer sway control when towing with the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System with 4-Point Sway Control - 14,000 lbs GTW, 1,400 lbs TW # EQ37140ET.

The sway control on your truck simply activates your truck's individual brakes when it detects sway, and this will not interfere with how the Equal-i-zer works.

I have added links to a few different articles on weight distribution which you may also be interested in reading.
