Will Hands Free Liftgate of 2020 Ford Escape Still Work with Draw Tite Hitch Installed
Question:
I was told by my Ford dealer that when putting the factory hitch on that the rear hatch sensor underneath needs to be relocated for it to work when the hitch is installed. This is the kick, handsfree sensor which allows opening without touching the vehicle. Do you have the kit or instructions for that relocation?

We've found that if you kick to either side of the hitch opening of the Draw Tite hitch # DR47FR that fits your 2020 Ford Escape the rear door will open still. The factory hitch might be a different story which is why they offer a way to relocate the sensors. We don't have a way to do this but I am sure the harness and kit is available at a Ford dealer.
If you are looking for custom fit trailer wiring for your Escape as well we have the Tekonsha kit part # TE54FR as well. This installs very easily and has a very reliable converter box as well.
