How Long Will It Take Me To Install Base Plates, Wiring and Air Force One Braking System
Question:
I have a 2018 Allegro Red and a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4. I was wondering about how much time it would take to install a Blue Ox BX 1742 and a standard Bx8848 wiring kit? Also Im think about the Demco Air Force One for the motorhome and truck as a supplemental brake system can you tell me how long for that install as well

It's tough to ballpark the installation time on all of these since it's going to vary by your mechanical and electrical experience and depend on anything that may go wrong along the way. The installation of the Blue Ox Base Plate # BO94FR and Blue Ox Tow Bar Wiring Kit # BX8848 is likely going to take between 3-4 hours for experienced installers; for those who are doing this for the first time it's likely going to take you twice that.
When it comes to installation of the Demco SBS Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for Motor Homes with Air Brakes # SM99243, you should plan on spending 5-6 hours to get all of those components installed. Overall, I would plan on spending a good portion of your weekend getting your 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 ready to flat tow.
We don't have installation videos for the base plates or wiring on your 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 but we do have one for the Air Force One that is specific to your vehicle that you can use to reference during the process.
