Will the 26-29 SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps Reduce Trailer Bouncing While Entering

Question:

I have a 2017 Forest River Wildwood X Lite 26BHXL and I am interested in purchasing this for our trailer. My question is whether this steps will help reduce the rocking motion when getting in an out of the trailer. Currently we use Camcos Jack Stands, one on each corner of the trailer. They work but usually I have to tighten them multiple times a day. I thought of getting 4 of your 10000 lbs scissor jacks but I think the Solid Steps would be better for the little bit of the price difference. Any thoughts. Thanks

The SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps part # LC733931 are a great option that will indeed work well to reduce rocking and bouncing as you enter. In comparison to under-door mounted steps where the movement is transferred to the trailer, the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps use the ground for support so there will not be near as much movement transferred to the trailer thereby reducing rocking and bouncing.

That said, the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps only really reduce bouncing/rocking while entering the trailer whereas the scissor jacks like the Scissor Stabilizer Jacks w/ Handle part # TJSCHD-24-4 work constantly such as walking around in the trailer. It's hard to say one is better than the other as they are used in different scenarios but the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps are a pretty substantial upgrade and it sounds like you already some similar jacks so I recommend giving these a try and then adding the Scissor Stabilizer Jacks w/ Handle down the road if you still require increased stability.
