Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2020 Toyota Sienna
Question:
I just purchased a 2020 Toyota Sienna XLE AWD. I need a tow hitch and 5 flat wire harness for the van. I tow a Lund 1800 Pro V. The trailer has a 5 flat trailer wire harness plugged into a 7way male receptor. I would like the tow vehicle 5 flat female connector to be attached to the hitch receiver and not just hanging loose. The wiring harness on my old van had a multi Tow RV type 7 -5 way connector attached to the crossbar. But the 2020 sienna has the crossbar hidden so nothing to attach that 7 way receptor to. What hitch and wire harness would you recommend for my situation. Thank you for your kind assistance. Wayne

For your 2020 Toyota Sienna the trailer hitch I recommend is the Draw Tite part # 76112 as it has the hidden crosstube like you are wanting but also has a trailer wiring bracket on the side of the crosstube which will make mounting/storing trailer wiring easy. I attached a picture that shows where it's at.
For trailer wiring you'd then want the part # 118648 which gives you the 4-way base to start with. Now I know you have a 5-way plugged into a 7-way adapter currently so I think your best option would be to convert the # 118648 to a 7-way with the # 37185 and eliminate one adapter from your wiring setup. The 7-ways are also much easier to mount securely as they aren't hanging wire. The # 37185 would bolt right up to the bracket on the Draw Tite hitch as well. If you need the reverse circuit active for a lockout solenoid on your trailer you'd run the purple wire of the 37185 to the reverse light of your vehicle and you'd be set.
