Spindle Measurement of Part # TRU47FR

Question:

I have taken my hub off the axle and measured surfaces B, C and D and E and they correspond with part no. TRU47FR. This is the spindle for the T4843100 Brake kit. I need to know where the F measurement is taken.

Expert Reply:

The F measurement is the length of the square portion of the spindle stub, which can either slide into the end of the axle and be plug welded in place or more commonly welded to the bottom of the axle tube.

As long as the spindle is going on a 3500 lb axle and the rest of the dimensions match (B, C, D and E), it is not so important that the F dimension match perfectly, just as long as it is not dramatically shorter than the spindle it replaces.
