The Timbren Rear Suspension System # THROD2, you have referenced has a weight capacity of 2000 lbs and will work on your 2003 Honda Pilot as long as the tongue weight (290 to 435 lbs) of the 2,900-lb tent trailer does not exceed the tongue weight capacity of the vehicle or trailer hitch.
I do have a couple of air spring systems that will work on your Honda Pilot, but they are rated for a maximum weight capacity of 1,000 lbs and will need to be manually inflated to even your load distribution. I am including a link to the two air spring systems I have available for your Pilot.
If the tent trailer you have is creating sag on the rear of your vehicle I would recommend a weight distribution system over a rear suspension enhancement system in that situation.
When choosing a weight distribution system you will want one that has a tongue weight capacity range that encompasses the trailer tongue weight when loaded and ready to tow and that also includes the weight of any gear loaded behind the rear axle of the vehicle. I am including a link to a FAQ page on weight distribution
I recommend the Reese Weight Distribution System, part # RP66540. This weight distribution system is designed for A-frame style trailers and will fit a tongue weight range of 200 to 600 lbs. This weight distribution hitch adds spring bars to the hitch system that apply leverage between the tow vehicle and the trailer. This leverage transfers the load sitting on the rear of the vehicle to all the axles of the vehicle and trailer. If you add a rear suspension enhancement system the extra weight is still sitting on the rear axle causing more strain.
The only other part you will need for the weight distribution system is the hitch ball. Depending on the size of the coupler on your trailer you will need either the Curt 2-Inch Hitch Ball, part # A-90, or the Tow Ready 2-5/16-Inch Hitch Ball, part # 19286.
