Atwood Hot Water Heater Runs Constantly and Won't Shut Off Unless It's Shut Off Manually  

Question:

My hot water heater does not shut itself on and off so I have to unplug a wire on a little black panel on the heater and the pop off valve goes off Ive changed the heating element and thermostat what else could it be

I would first start by making sure that there isn't a leak anywhere on the water heater that would tell the system to keep heating up water. If you've confirmed that there isn't a leak anywhere on the system, you'll next want to check and make sure that the thermostat is up to the tank and making contact on the clear plastic spot; it could be a simple bad connection like this that is keeping the thermostat from reading the correct water temperature.

I would also consider changing out the 4 Wire Control Harness # AT93312 before going straight to the Replacement Control Panel # AT91367, as it may be something as simple as a bad connection between the thermostat and the control panel that is causing this to happen.
