Can Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs Be Installed on Silverado without Bump Stop Cups

Question:

Hello. I recently purchased a helper bag kit from a different company. As I started to install it their instructions said to cut off the bumpstop cup. So I did. Next I started to install the brackets and found that the kit does not work with a gooseneck hitch. Now Im seeing the airlift kits leaving the cup there. If I get one of these kits and install it without the cup being there, will it make a difference? Thank you.

I reached out to my contact at Air Lift regarding the LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs # AL57338 for your 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500. She said the factory jounce bumper cups on the truck do provide kind of a backup support for the air bag brackets, so it's not recommended to install this system without those cups in place. She said you can simply have these welded back on (a couple of tack welds will be just fine) and then the setup will work perfectly.

As you probably already saw, this system is compatible with a gooseneck/5th wheel rails but just keep in mind there will be a couple extra steps during installation. I have attached the full manual below that you can look through as well.
