Is there Body Panel Modifications Needed to Install a Curt Hitch on a 2012 Toyota Camry
Question:
I use the hitch for a bike rake only, total weight less than 100 lbs. Saw other hitch instructions calling for lowering exhaust system, modifying heat sheild, yada, yada. It this one easier I hope???

Basically for all of the hitches available for the 2012 Toyota Camry you will have to do the same modifications. You will need to temporarily lower the exhaust, modify the heat shield possibly and trim or remove the underbody panel. I attached installation instructions for the Curt Trailer Hitch # C12107 for you to check out to give you an idea what the install will be like.
If all of the modification is not something you are interested in doing you could also just get a trunk mounted bike rack like the Thule OutWay 2 Bike Carrier # TH45JV. This would not require any modifications to your vehicle to install and is confirmed to fit your vehicle. The maximum weight this carrier can handle is 66 lbs.
If you plan on carrying women's or alternative framed bikes you may also be interested in purchasing a Thule Bike Adapter Bar # TH982XT. I attached a review video for this product also.
