Choosing Between 1-1/4 and 2 Trailer Hitch For 2019 Honda CR-V
Question:
is the Draw-tite 1-1/4" hitch 36597 or or 2" 76128 the best for a 2019 Honda CR-V I plan on carrying 2 bikes in the future

Expert Reply:
I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III 2" hitch part # 76128 for the 2019 Honda CR-V because of it's versatility when it comes to accessories compared to the Draw-Tite 1-1/4" hitch part # 36597. The 2" hitch is compatible with more versatile bike racks that can carry heavier bikes like E-bikes. You will also have about an inch more ground clearance with the 2" hitch compared to the 1-1/4" which is needed when carrying accessories so they don't scrape the ground. I have attached an installation video for your reference.
For a bike rack, I recommend the Kuat NV 2.0 Base 2-Bike Platform Rack in gunmetal gray part # NV22G which allows you to carry the bikes by their wheels instead of the frame to avoid scratching. The bike rack itself is made of a nice lightweight aluminum to avoid corrosion and gives it a nice sleek look. It also tilts away from rear cargo access when you need a cold drink from the cooler after riding the trails!
