I am happy to help you install the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole part # 37185 on the 2003 Subaru Baja. If your trailer does not have brakes and you are using the plug as an adapter to adapt your 4-Way to a 7-way then all you would need to do is mount the plug and ground it to a clean bare metal surface of the vehicle's frame. Then plug your existing 4-Way into the pigtail that comes off the plug and your set.
if you are wiring in a brake controller you will need to extend the wires from the plug to vehicle's battery and to the brake controller. I have attached a diagram and a helpful article that shows how to wire in the plug with a brake controller. If all you have is the adapter and you need to wire in a brake controller you will also need Wiring Kit for 2, 4, 6, and 8 Brake Electric Trailer Brake Controllers part # 5506 and wire loom part # 7509-1.
