Correct Sidewinder for 2016 Coachmen Chaparral 336TSIK
Question:
Hi guys, I come to you guys once again with a question. i have a 2019 ram 3500 6.5 box cc 6.7. im purchasing a 2016 chaparral 336tsik. im narrowing down my hitch set up . im wondering first off if I can replace my lippert 1621 pin box on this model trailer with the reese sidewinder? I cant see any info on the compatibility with the sidewinder fitting on a chaparral. I am also looking at the curt a20 or a25 to go into my puck system. If this setup would work, can you tell me what wedge I would need? I know curt has one and Im pretty sure the sidewinder has a universal wedge. I see a bunch of people talking about a lot of chucking until they got the correct wedge. Thank you guys very much!

Yes, the Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pin with Rotating Turret part # RP34FR will work on any trailer with a Lippert 1621 pin box. The pin boxes are not make and model specific but rather specific to the pin box's bolt pattern.
In regard to the Curt A and Q Series fifth wheel hitches, these are no longer compatible with the Reese Sidewinder due to a re-design, and they also haven't been confirmed to fit with other rotating pin boxes. That said, I instead recommend installing a fixed hitch that is compatible such as the Reese # RP30918. You will also need the appropriate Wedge # RP44FR to work with the Reese Sidewinder RP34FR.
