How to Transport Bikes with Swagman Bike Rack When Flat Towing Jeep Behind RV

I have an RV with a Reese receiver and I tow a Jeep grand GC I want to raise the bikes up put them behind the RV and above the hood of the GC I have seen a unit that slips over my 2” Blue Ox receiver and allows one to still us their Swagman 2 bike carrier. Any help Thanks

It sounds like you're referring to a bike rack like the Swagman Traveler XCS # S64664, which is designed specifically to fit over the 2" shank of a ball mount or tow bar (see attached image). If you have an existing Swagman rack that slides into a standard 2" hitch receiver there's not a way to convert it for this type of application, but the Swagman Traveler is certainly a great option if you wanted to go with a new rack to use for your trips.

This particular rack can handle two bikes that weight up to 35 pounds each. I have attached a short video demonstration that you can check out as well.

If you already have a bike rack that you'd like to continue using your best option is with a dual receiver adapter like the Roadmaster # RM-077-6. This adapter will slide into the 2" receiver on your RV to provide two 2" receivers on the other side; one for your Blue Ox tow bar and another for your bike rack.
