Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2020 Audi Q5
Question:
Which of the hitches do you recommend using for a 2020 Audi Q5? Not entirely sure what I will be using it for as of yet but I wanted to get a trailer hitch installed and the dealer was asking a ridiculous amount of money to do it. All of the trailer hitches look fairly difficult to install but I've had my fair share of hitch installations so I know I can get it done. Any other recommendations would be welcomed too!

Thank you for all of the info! We have heard horror stories about dealership prices for trailer hitch installs. Since you are comfortable installing trailer hitches, using an aftermarket hitch and installing it on your own will definitely save you a bit of money!
For your 2020 Audi Q5 I recommend going with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13331 because Curt trailer hitches tend to install easier, have better welds, and a thicker powder coat than other options. This means that you'll have the easiest time installing this trailer hitch and you can be confident that you are receiving a quality product.
Since you aren't quite sure just yet what you'll be using the trailer hitch for I have some additional recommendations for you. If you plan on towing then I the ZCI Wiring Kit # 119250KIT is a great way to activate your trailer's light wiring without running the risk of damaging the OEM wiring on your Audi as this clips onto your OEM wiring but pulls power directly from your battery.
To complete a towing setup you also need a ball mount kit. I recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900 because it includes two ball mounts, one with a 3/4” rise/2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise/4” drop, a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip. You will want to refer to the attached ball mount article to ensure that this kit is correct for your towing application.
Should you end up using the hitch for a bike rack instead (which is another popular use for hitches) then I recommend the Kuat NV 2.0 # NV22G because it can accommodate 2 bikes weighing up to 60 lbs each with any kind of frame design as long as they don't have a front fender. This rack is made of aluminum, comes with locks, and has a limited lifetime warranty so you can be confident that this rack will help you transport your bikes for a long time.
