Is Curt Hitch # CU29FR A Good Fit For a 2020 Chevy Traverse
Question:
Is the curt trailer hitch cu29fr a good fit for the 2020 chevy traverse?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # CU29FR is a great fit for the 2020 Chevy Traverse all models because it provides the best ground clearance but is also the least visible option so it's not an eyesore like some aftermarket hitches. The only portion of the hitch that is visible once installed is the receiver tube and not the bulky cross tube. The Curt will provide about 18.5 inches of ground clearance which is a lot more than the standard ground clearance most hitches provide. Better ground clearance will make carrying accessories like cargo carriers and bike racks easier on steep driveways. I have attached a video for your reference.
If you plan on towing you will need wiring. For the wiring, I recommend Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118761. The wiring harness will plug into the tail lights of the Traverse and gives you a 4-way flat at the rear of the vehicle to plug your trailer into. The Tekonsha brand is known to be more reliable and last longer then the other options. I have attached an installation video for your reference.
You may also consider the etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and an awesome storage bag. If you are not sure of how much rise or drop you need to tow the trailer level please take a look at the helpful article I have attached on measuring for rise/drop.
