Recommended Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch for 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 Short Bed with Pucks
Question:
We just got our 2020 Chevy Silevrado 2500 a few weeks ago and have decided to buy a 5th wheel trailer. I have the pucks so the hitch should be easy to install but what do you recommend. I know we need the slider because the truck has a short bed.

The B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch part # BWRVK3775 is what I recommend for a 2020 Chevy Silverado. The reason for this is because the B&W Companion has a very thick set of locking jaws (see photo) which not only provides a secure attachment point but also reduces movement of the king pin inside the jaws which then equates to a smooth ride. The B&W Companion in addition to the durable jaw design also features a direct drop-in fit with no other hardware or adapters plates needed. This cuts down on both lifting and time it takes to install the unit.
The other great feature of the B&W Companion is the two pin head removal system which allows you to remove the head separately from the base. This is going to cut down on heavy lifting as you can remove each piece individually and not as a whole unit. The slider base will then prevent any cab/loft clearance issues when making tight turns.
