Does the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch 76288 Require Trimming On a 2020 BMW X5

Hello, we just got a 2020 BMW X5 and need a trailer hitch however, we don't want to do any trimming of the rear bumper. What are our options?

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76288 is the perfect option for a 2020 BMW X5 as it has a hidden cross tube which means only the receiver tube will be present, therefore the overall look once installed will be very sleek. That said, because of the hidden and sleek design you will need to do some slight trimming to a plastic trim panel under the vehicle's rear bumper fascia. However, this trimming is very minor and unnoticeable from outside the vehicle so please don't let this stop you from wanting to install a trailer hitch.
The required trimming is not on the actual bumper fascia but rather a small plastic trim panel underneath which you can see in the attached photo. The nice thing about this is that you could just replace that piece if you ever removed the hitch as that would then bring the vehicle back to stock 100% with no other cut marks.
Unfortunately, trimming of this plastic, unpainted panel is required for any trailer hitch so you don't really have any other options but again it's very minor and would be very simple to replace if needed down the line. I have attached a finished install photo for you as well.
