Yes, the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box # TH6297B that you referenced will fit the factory crossbars on your 2018 VW Golf GTI. The only thing you will want to look at is the rear hatch clearance on the VW with the box mounted.
I recommend taking a quick measurement from the center of the front factory crossbar back to where the roof and rear hatch door meet. As long as this measurement is at least 47-1/2 inches, you won't have to worry about the box interfering with fully opening the hatch.
