Troubleshooting Fan-Tastic Vent Fan That Seems To Be Losing Power
Question:
Hello! My fantastic fan seems to have lost power. It still runs but slowly. Speed will change but just isnt as powerful as once was. It is installed in a 2000 chinook motor home and Im pretty sure it is the original. Also , when turned on, sometimes it doesnt turn at all unless I bang on it then will work. I am a female without mechanical skills.??

It really sounds like the motor for the Fan-Tastic Vent Fan in your Chinook RV is at the end of its lifespan. Before replacing it though I recommend just making sure the power wire to the fan is still in good shape and securely connected. It's possible that the slower speed and sporadic operation is just due to a lack of power actually getting to the fan assembly.
If all of this looks good though the motor is likely the issue. We do have the Replacement Fan Motor # FVK8017-00, which will work on # FV802250, # FV803350, or # FV807350 model assemblies. If you have a different model please let me know and I can try and verify if this will still work or track down an alternate solution.
I have attached a short video review on the fan motor that you can check out as well.
