Can I Drill a 2nd Hole in My Hitch Receiver to Use A J Pin Stabilizer?

Question:

If you dont have the extra hole in your hitch receiver, is it possible to drill one? If so, is there a diagram or measurement where the hole should go? I could put some white paint on the tip of the Jinch and touch it to the receiver to know where the hole should go.

Drilling a hole in your hitch receiver will void your manufacturer's warranty if something were ever to go wrong with it. For that reason, I think the best solution to use an anti-rattle hitch pin that won't require any drilling, like the # 63232 . This anti-rattle hitch receiver pin will help eliminate rattle but also provide a secure connection with its keyed lock so that you won't have to worry about any receiver mounted accessories "walking away" while unattended.

If you've got a solid shank, you can use the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061 which will also eliminate the rattle that you're hearing. I've attached a video review of these products to this answer that you might find helpful.
