Troubleshooting Furrion Rear View Camera System Monitor
Question:
I purchased a Furrion camera a couple years ago and now the camera only has a black screen. It has power and the menu does not come up either. Is there a compatible monitor that I can purchase or would I have to replace the whole system? If so what would be a comparable system? Thank you!

I just got off the phone with my contact in the tech support department at Furrion. With the FOD43TA-BL system you currently have, the main culprit is usually a blown fuse in the plug that inserts into the cigarette lighter to power up the system. Unplug the the monitor, and unscrew the metal tip on the end of the plug. There's an inline 2 amp slow-blow glass cartridge fuse that might have blown. It's tough to tell just by looking at it, because the metal filament is very thin. The best way to tell if it's still good is to test it for continuity. The fuses are readily available at your local auto parts store.
If the blue light on the monitor is lit, then it is not a fuse issue and the monitor is defective. Unfortunately, Furrion stopped producing that camera system more than a year ago and replacement parts aren't available any longer. The # FOS43TASF Vision S system you've looked at is the current model and would make a good replacement. I've linked to a video showing this system being installed.
