Can Convert-A-Ball 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter Fit a Ford with Prep Package

Is there a way to make this work with the Ford factory gooseneck? Why doesnt it work?

The Convert-A-Ball adapter, part # CAB-C5G, isn't recommended with the Ford factory prep package (or the Ram package for that matter) because the hitch balls for both trucks have a plastic lever on the top of it that gets damaged by a nut that's inside the Convert-A-Ball adapter. The two rub against each other and plastic basically gets destroyed. Also, the safety chains the adapter comes with are not long enough.
It is possible to use the adapter with your truck, however. You just need to replace the ball with on that doesn't have the lever on the top; such as the B&W # BWGNXA2062. For longer chains use part # RP49151.
