Do Bearings Need to be Removed to Install New Grease Seal on Hub  

Question:

a grease seal just blew out on my new ez lube axle. to replace it, do I need to take all the bearings out? or, can i just take the hub off and put in a new seal from the back of the hub? Thanks

The bearings for your trailer hub don't need to be removed/replaced when replacing the blown grease seal. As you mentioned you can simply tap in the new seal from the back of the hub once it's taken off the spindle. With that being said it's not a bad idea to go ahead and remove and inspect the bearings while you're in there to make sure there aren't any signs that anything needs to be replaced.

The Grease Seals # RG06-020 that you were looking at have a 1.500 inch inner diameter and a 1.987 inch outer diameter. You will just want to make sure this matches what you have to ensure a correct replacement.
