Trailer Tire Recommendation to Replace 155/80-13

Question:

I asked earlier about P155/80R13 replacement tires. Could the wear on the inner edge be caused from being a car tire and not a trailer tire?

The tire size you have is not designed for use on a trailer as it's a passenger vehicle tire size. That's actually what the "P" in the tire size references. You want a tire size that starts with ST which means it's for a trailer application. The closest trailer tire size is the size ST185/80-13 which for that I recommend the Westlake part # LHWL101 which is a radial tire with a higher speed rating and a warranty that includes roadside assistance and tire replacement. This tire also has a great tread design that will give you great traction in wet and dry conditions.

The ST tires have sidewalls that are reinforced for vertical loads like what trailers often encounter.

When the inside tread on your front tires is wearing faster than the center or the outside edge, the problem is likely a "camber" problem or that the trailer is overloaded which is causing the axle to flex out. That said, since you were using a vehicle tire on your trailer that could partially contribute to the problem as well. It's probably a good idea to verify you aren't exceeding the weight capacity of your trailer and also have the alignment of the trailer checked as well.
