Best Replacement for a ST155/80-R13 Trailer Tire

Question:

I have a boat trailer which currently has 155/80r13 tires on it and I would like to replace them. The problem is that I can not find a trailer tire in that size anywhere and the replacement suggested, 175/80 13 is to large and wont clear the fender when installed.

The 155/80-13 tire you are referring to is a very odd size which is why you are having such difficulty finding a replacement. We do not carry a tire in this size but I do still have an option for you. A 155/80-13 tire is going to be 22.8" in diameter x 6.1" wide. A 175/80-13 tire is going to be 24" in diameter x 6.9" wide. Therefore, the new tire size will be 1.2" taller and .8" wider than the old tire. This means that you will need an additional .6" of space between the tire and fender. If the fenders you have on your trailer now do not allow for this then you will either need to A) reposition the bracket that attaches it to the trailer or B) use a new bracket entirely. For this, I recommend the Mounting Brackets for Trailer Fender part # CE26098G-2. The points of adjustment that these brackets offer should allow for the fender to extend up past the new tire.

Then for a 175/80-13 tire, I recommend the Karrier Radial Trailer Tire part # AM10199. This tire has a radial construction and load range C (1,360 lbs per tire) rating. It also comes with a 2-year warranty as with all Kenda tires. I have attached a review video of this tire for you as well.
