Vehicle Wiring Harness Options for a 2012 Toyota Highlander

Question:

Im trying to figure out what I want to do about adding a hitch to my new Highlander. I thought the wiring was the same as the 2011, but I see you list a different wiring solution for 2011 and 2012 versions. Is there a differrence bewteen the trailer wiring in these vehicles that Im missing, or is my vehicle just too new and the web site options havent caught up with it?

I spoke with my contact at Curt and verified the Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness, part # C56217, is the correct wiring harness for your 2012 Toyota Highlander.

The Wiring Kit, part # C59496, will work on your vehicle, but it will not use the plug-in ports on the vehicle wiring. It will require splicing into the tail light, brake light and turn signal light circuits on your vehicle, but it does come with all tools needed to complete the task.
