Installing a 7 Way Adapter on a 2006 Ford E-350
Question:
I want to confirm the Color Code for the wiring Harness of the 2006 Ford E-350 to make sure I connect my 7 connector hookup properly. There are TWO seperate 4-pin connectors in the E-350. One has the White/Yellow/Green/Brown. The other has Orange/Black/Blue/and a Black with Green Stripe. Could you please tell me the function of these eight wires?

When you are wiring the # 37185 7 way connector on your vehicle, the color and function of the wires are as follows:
White is ground
Yellow is left, stop and turn
Green is right, stop and turn
Brown is taillight, license and side marker
Black is 12-volt power
Blue is brakes
You need to test for the functions of all of the wires on your truck with a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993, and connect them to the appropriate wires on the # 37185 connector
There will only be one slot left for either the black wire or the black wire with the green stripe. The last connection in the 7-way connector is typically used for reverse lights but can be wired as an additional 12-volt power source if needed. We are unaware of the normal function of the black wire and the black wire with the green stripe in your OEM connector, but once you have tested the two wires if one is the reverse light circuit you can connect that wire to the purple wire on the 7-way adapter.
