Troubleshooting 7-Way to 6-Pole Wiring Adapter Operation
Question:
I have a 2018 Jayco Melbourne that the 7 way works when I use a Curt tester on it all lights and functions work but when I plug in my Coil cable to flat tow there is only charge line power. Tried brand new and used coil cables. Same on both!! Please help ASAP THANK YOU

It sounds like you are using a 7-to-6-way coiled adapter cable like # RM-1676-7 between your Class C Jayco Melbourne's 7-way and the 6-pole on your towed vehicle.
Some trailer wiring testers that use LEDs may not always work correctly. If you have a probe tester like # PTW2992 I suggest you re-test the 7-way contacts one at a time. You can refer to the linked photo to see which pin to test for each function. The photo shows the usual RV circuit configuration but there are multiple ways that a 7-way and a 6-pole can be configured. If you check out the linked article you'll see photos of each of the different ways these connectors can be set up.
If you do confirm that all circuits on the Jayco's 7-way function correctly then you'll want to make sure that the 6-pole is wired in a corresponding manner so the function on any given contact in the 7-way gets routed to the appropriate pin on the 6-pole.
