How To Stop Tires From Hitting Bottom Of Fenders and Wearing

Question:

I have a tandem axle 2003 Keystone Hornet 27BS, ive been noticing scuff marks underneath fender wells and tires are showing signs of uneven wear. The clearance is only 1-2, what is the minimum clearance? Considering the following: 1. New Leaf Springs 2. Lift Kit 3. Smaller Wheels or lower profile tires Whats your thoughts on any of the above or other options?

Generally speaking, there will need to be between 3-4" of clearance between the top of the tire and the bottom of the fender. In regards to how to fix this, I would rate new leaf springs first but only if they are worn which is causing the trailer to sag as aside from this you would not get much lift if at all.

The best and easiest option would be to install the Tandem Axle Lift Kit part # RR23QX. The tires will also need replaced but you would most likely not be able to gain the needed clearance without undergoing capacity. I have attached a list of options to replace your worn tires but if you left me know what size you have I can make some recommendations for you.
