The best option for the 2016 2016 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen is the EcoHitch part # 306-X7315 because it is the only hitch option with a 2" receiver that will allow you to carry 4 bikes on the Volkswagen. The other options are Class I 1-1/4" hitch receivers that will only allow you to carry 2 bikes.

The best option for a Swing-Away Rack on the 2016 VW Golf Sportwagen is Yakima FullSwing 4 Bike Rack part # Y02465 because the quality and the features of the Yakima rack exceeds other swing-away bike rack options available. The Yakima speedknob tightens the rack down into the hitch without tools so you do not have to worry about anti-rattle hitch pin locks that need to be tightened down with tools that are easily misplaced. The racks adjustable cradles make it easy to create space for larger bike frames that need more room on the rack instead of trying to play a game of Tetris when putting the bikes on the rack like with other brands.
