Just like a car a trailer's battery is going to drain and eventually go dead while it sits. Although, it'll take longer since there isn't as much power pulling from the battery on a trailer as there is a car. Trailers do still have things that are "running" even though they're turned off, especially campers because they often have carbon monoxide sensors or refrigerators that draw a small amount of power even when turned off. The best way to prolong the battery so it still has as much charge as possible is to disconnect it from the the trailer. It just depends on how long you're leaving the trailer and the condition of the battery as to how long it'll last.
If the trailer is parked somewhere that you have access to AC power you can use a charger like the NOCO Genius # 329-GENIUS5.
