Replacement Gear Box for 2011 KZ Durango 1500 Landing Gear
Question:
I bent a leading leg a few weeks ago. I replaced the leg. Since I have experience 2 failures to lift the trailer. I get a loud noise as the drive rod connecting the two legs rotates part way. The weight seems to be equal across the legs. I can not lift it using the manual crank. In five years of full time use of this trailer i have never before had this problem. Have I damaged the gear box perhaps. It is a 2011 kz durango 1500

It does sound like you damaged the gear box of the landing gear on your trailer. If your trailer has landing gear that resembles the part # LG-4 you referenced (this is most common landing gear out there) and you can see that it's made by Lippert, LCI, Stromberg, or Venture the correct replacement gear box is the part # LG-179015.
If you have a different type of landing gear let me know and I'll see what you'd need.
