Trailer Hitch and Extension for 1996 GMC 2500 C/K With Truck Camper

Question:

Which one do I order to fit my 1996 GMC 2500 pick up. I need at least a 3 foot extension to clear my 11 ft camper and pull an 18 ft glastron boat.

There is absolutely a way for you to get an extension of at least 3 feet with your 1996 GMC 2500 C/K so you can take your boat along when using your truck camper.

To do this you will need to install the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver # TLC1201, which fits your '96 GMC 2500, so long as you have the standard or step bumper. Adding this hitch is the only way to get an extender which is long enough to meet your needs.

With this hitch installed you can then add the hitch extender with the best length for you:

- 36" Long: TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension for SuperHitch Trailer Hitch Receivers # TLE1536 (6,500 lb towing capacity, 650 lb tongue weight capacity OR 12,000 lb/1,200 lb when used with a weight distribution system)

- 42" Long: TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension for SuperHitch Trailer Hitch Receivers # TLE1542 (6,000 lb towing capacity, 600 lb tongue weight capacity OR 12,000 lb/1,200 lb when used with a weight distribution system)

- 48" Long: TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension for SuperHitch Trailer Hitch Receivers # TLE1548 (6,000 lb towing capacity, 600 lb tongue weight capacity OR 12,000 lb/1,200 lb when used with a weight distribution system)

- 60" Long: TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension for SuperHitch Trailer Hitch Receivers # TLE1560 (5,000 lb towing capacity, 500 lb tongue weight capacity OR 10,000 lb/1,000 lb when used with a weight distribution system)

I have added a link to a video review of the extension for you to check out as well.
