Installation of Buyers Products 2-Way Die-Cast Trailer Connector

Question:

I bought this plug expecting that there would be some kind of screw lugs on the back side of the of the plug like you see in 7 pin connectors, but I found that each lug is just a thick brass tube. Do these take some kind of bullet terminal, or are they soldered or crimped on somehow? I am try to adapt a pair of 10 gauge wires to this plug which is oversized for my needs.

The Buyer's Products connector, part # 337TC2002, does need the wires to be soldered in the brass fittings. Also, I verified with Buyer's that it's designed for 6 gauge wire so you may not be able to get your 10 gauge to work. You might be able to strip back more of the 10 gauge than normal and fold it over so it's thicker and may fit into the fittings.
