What Typically Causes Trailer Tires to Fail
Question:
I got a 30ft gooseneck trailer that’s a year old and I keep blowing tires I think it was 6 of them. I don’t mean to bad talk any company’s but I don’t know if it’s cheap tires that came with the trailer or if something is wrong with my trailer. Trail finder ht is what came with the trailer and they keep blowing the treads right off. Before they blow out it seems the center of the tires on the treads pop up like the 3 middle treads stick up higher than the outside 2 by a lot then not much later they blow out. Are these just inferior tires ? Please help I need to replace them all Thanks

Most likely the tires were too old and they had started to break down so when they were in use on the highway they began to come apart. Typically the shelf life of a trailer tire is 6 years and they normally need replacing due to age before wearing out. Other possible scenarios is that they tires were over loaded or the speed rating was exceeded which also will cause them to fail early.
You didn't mention what tire size you have but if you have the 235/85R16 size the Westlake tire part # LHWL410 that you referenced would be a great option. We've found that these tires are very reliable and provide great traction plus a higher speed rating at 75 mph. These also come with a really great 2 year warranty program.
If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.
